DKM590

The Future of Underwater Locating Devices

The DKM590 is an advanced Maritime ULD that leverages Dukane Seacom’s 30 years of industry-leading experience and technology with improved battery safety. This includes a non-restricted Class-9 lithium battery, fully compliant with DO-227A Lithium Battery requirements for containment of thermal runaway. More importantly, the DKM590 conforms to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) performance standards, including MSC.333 (90) and MSC.163 (78), as well as SAE AS8045A.

The DKM590 uses a high-strength black anodized aluminum housing for maximum corrosion resistance. In addition, the DKM590 features improved omni-directional output for more evenly distributed sound waves to improve location accuracy, which is the most important characteristic of ULDs.

The DKM590 has the same dimensions as all of Dukane Seacom’s 90-day ULDs and uses common installation and maintenance processes. This commonality offers VDR manufacturers and maritime fleet operators consistent maintenance practices for all industry ULDs.

The DKM590 provides highly-reliable performance, improved corrosion resistance, enhanced acoustic output, and superior battery performance and safety. With a standard four-year battery life minimum, the DKM590 combines the best features available in maritime ULDs today.
